This composition portrays the 'Cycle of Life' as an older, fallen and decaying stump provides the foreground for a thriving and mature Live Oak tree. The continued decay of the stump provides nourishment for new seedlings and mature trees, alike, --as well a host for a variety of plant, insect and wildlife.
This infrared image looks great printed on any media, --whether on paper canvas, or metal! As a Fine Art print, I recommend a fine art watercolor paper, matted and framed, capturing the richness of texture and depth of the image. Signed limited edition prints available with framed float mounting, inquire here: kstiversphoto@gmail.com
Oak Garden is an enchanting enclave of the Apalachicola National Forest , Florida. Nestled among stands of pine forests, these ancient Live Oaks hold court around sandy, low-laying basins . Captured here in infrared, which reduces this naturally lush-greens and browns, into raw textures and forms of a monochromatic scale. I use a specially modified camera, that only "sees" a very narrow band of light in the non-visible spectrum.
